WARNING!

Amidst the rumbling traffic on the bustling street, the pendant lights inside sway ever so slightly under the reflection of the orange-hued sunset, resembling seismometers responding to the mechanical vibrations. In this contemplative gaze, do randomly generated sounds play a role in conveying a sensory narrative within the mechanical swaying? How does the exchange of sounds inside and outside the door contribute to this experience? The artist extends such sensory experiences and reflections into the artwork "Randy 11."

Imagine an installation shaped like a ceiling fan serving as a sensing apparatus for the exhibition space. Utilizing contact microphones, the installation detects fluid sounds within the pipelines, the rhythmic sounds of audience climbing stairs, and the thudding of footsteps on the floor. These sensed signals, after amplification and mixing, are fed back to the installation, driving the diaphragm of the speaker. The mechanical structure converts the diaphragm's vibrations into kinetic energy, causing the entire ceiling fan to exhibit a subtle swaying motion rather than a rotation.

Mounted at the bottom of the installation, transparent fingertips transform into markers, drawing sound trajectories in the air as a result of the random actions of the viewers. These markings trace the auditory journey woven from different corners of the space and various moments in time.
